My Mutley Heart

I am a dog lover, everyone that knows me can vouch on that.... So we got Mutley October 2008 and I could barely keep my exitement under control.... I use to rush home every evening so that I can take him for walks in the park near my house (at that stage I use to live in a little flat in Bryanston with no garden). He soon became a being I could not imagine living without.

He went every where with us PE, the farm, the beach etc and he is so well mannered I wish he was pocket size so that I can carry him with me everywhere I go....

His morning kisses made my day and to see his snout after work made me wanting to come home even if it was only for him....

Then I got pregnant, M and I had huge fights and Wallace was my constant comfort... I spend nights sitting in Hannah’s room to get it perfect..... he always by my side... only us 2.

We went to the farm one weekend, he got to play with other doggy friends. we got home. he depressed. So M and I decided on a friend.... and then Willow came. My little scatter brain black girly.....

Wallace and Willow got on like a house on fire and now inseparable. Willow allot more needy,. Wallace a lot more understanding.

Last night I felt terrible for not spending so much time with him, Hannah take allot of my time and... well Willow is still needy. I love you Wallace, my First one ;)

How your support made a difference....

Dear senora,

Last week, I was in Cannes at the G20 summit.  As you know, media coverage of the meeting was full of the eurozone and Greece, and you might be forgiven for thinking that’s all they discussed. But behind the headlines, something else really important happened.  G20 leaders heard your voice, and the voices of more than 400,000 others who backed our Hungry No More campaign.
What’s more, they committed themselves to a number of the short and long term agricultural solutions we’ve been pushing for to break the cycle of famine. With over 13 million people still in crisis in the Horn of Africa, I wanted to let you know what the G20 have pledged, how you helped achieve this, and what we need to do next.
In their final declaration, the G20 agreed that there is an urgent need to strengthen emergency and long term responses to food insecurity and that responsible investment in long term agricultural solutions in the poorest countries is “essential to promote food security and foster sustainable economic growth,” especially when focused on smallholder farmers.
They also pledged to reduce the dangerous impacts of food price volatility and improve the transparency of agricultural commodity markets. That could make a world of difference. Some of the poorest families have to spend as much as 80% of their household budgets on food, so sudden price rises mean real hardship.
More good news is that President Calderón of Mexico – the next Chair of the G20 – announced that food security will be one of the G20’s major priorities in 2012. The G20 has made a good start on a framework to fight poverty through agriculture, and now is the time for countries to step up and turn it into reality.
As a ONE member, you are one of our strongest advocates, and we owe you a big thank you. This campaign was just 30 days long, and here’s a snapshot of what you helped achieve globally:
  • 409,000 people signed our petition urging G20 leaders to act, and more than 700,000 viewed our ‘F-word’ TV ad on YouTube
  • In just one week in the UK, nearly 500 members searched for their Member of Parliament using our new toolkit, leading to a burst of tweets, personalised emails and meetings with MPs. A few members also represented ONE at Downing Street, and handed in our petition
  • ONE members in France joined our Paris team to project our campaign videos and a list of petition signers’ names onto the face of the historic Hôtel de Ville
  • In Germany, members’ tweets provoked a response from a Government spokesperson assuring that they considered agriculture, food prices and food security important at the G20
  • ONE members in the US handed in our petition on Capitol Hill, taking our message right to the heart of the US government.
But this isn’t the end of our Hungry No More campaign. Although we saw progress, the G20 still have a long way to go to make sure these promises are more than just warm words. We didn’t hear enough urgency or commitment to implementation, and the focus could too easily move away from this crucial issue.
Our job is to stop that from happening and keep up the pressure. So when the smaller G8 meet in Chicago next year, and when the G20 gather again in Mexico, we will need your support to push for concrete results that make world leaders accountable to their commitments.
We’ll be in touch to let you know how you can help, but for now I simply wanted to say: thank you.
Together as ONE, we are making a difference.
Best wishes,
Adrian Lovett, ONE.org

Where do I belong?

During the weekend I came to realize, I dont really know where I belong. My hometown has changed and apart frome the beach, sugarcane fields and the heat, I dont really want to go back there. I dont particulary like Jo'burg I feel lonely. I only have 2 friends in a 20km radius all my other friends stay so far.

I always imagined living in a neighbourhood, having tea parties with other moms, sharing recipes and having braais in the evenings, but it is so far from that, that is just a dream.

I feel I need to make a drastic change in my life, I really cant go on like this especially if I want to enroll Hannah into a good school and to create a place that she oneday can call home.

Home is the place your heart resides
Home is the place that you decide
Home is the womb that holds the soul
Home is the place where one is whole

Home is the glow you hold in your eye
Home is the emotion that makes you cry
Home is safe and a place of peace
Home is where all strivings cease

Home is protective against the others
Home is full of sisters and brothers
Home is where you find your rest
Home is where you feel your best

Home is a memory that follows your being
Home is a dream for those agreeing
Home is the place where reserves fall
Home is the place you yearn to call

Home is where the family meets
Home is a place of restful retreats
Home is the place you know you’ll be heard
Home is the pace where nothing blurs

Home is all these wonderful things
Home is the place you develop wings
Home is the place that you’ll find one day
Home is the place where your heart will stay

Hannah's little gift......

Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.
Mother Teresa

We had so much fun today my baby girl, Mum really did try to teach you the gift of giving.....

You were so good, you were in your pram sitting up all straight and ALL the people in awe with you, you so good my little Precious girl, Mum is so proud of you even the street people with REAL big problems, their faces lit up when they see your little precious face...

We went to buy your 10 year old little boy his Christmas present, Baby some kids dont have a Mom or a family that can wake them up on Christmas morning, showering them with kisses and a christmas tree or presents... thats why we went to get him HIS Christmas present.

Always be nice to people Hannah you will never really know their problems or what they are dealing with in life.

Make a sucess of yourself so that one day you can give to the less fortunate.... Honestly there is no better feeling, than to know you can make someone happy.... remember Mum loves you.... so much!
